The coastal dune lakes along 30A are a genuinely rare ecosystem, found in only a handful of places worldwide. Oyster Lake Overlook, near Dune Allen Beach, offers a peaceful, often-overlooked vantage point onto one of these lakes, giving visitors a chance to take in the brackish water and surrounding ecosystem without the crowds of the more heavily marketed beach accesses.
Trail Highlights Off the Main Path
While the Timpoochee Trail gets most of the recognition, the quieter paths branching off near Grayton Beach State Park lead to tucked-away beaches, shaded forest, and dune lakes that most visitors simply pass by.
